KG: You’re on a 3 fight win streak. Do you feel that you are starting to get recognition from the UFC and the fans?
JR: I hope so. If it hasn’t happened yet I hope it happens after this fight. When I first got into the UFC I was just happy being there. I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I was just happy fighting and being there. In the past couple of years, I realized that this is how I make my living and this is what I want to do. I want to make a statement and a mark before my time is up. And that’s what I’m doing. I’m not playing around. I’m coming for this kid. And if he’s taking me lightly, he’s gonna be fucked.
KG: Do you think a win over Bisping would put you in title contention?
JR: (Laughs) No. There’s still a lot of top dogs. The [185 pound] division is stacked from top to bottom. I just want really good fights, good match ups. I want to show that I belong there and that I’m in the top tier. If I can keep doing that, the title shot will come.
