Former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez has kept remarkably busy over the past several years, but most of it was internationally, and thus did not receive as much coverage as would a fight in, say, Vegas.

For example, in 2013 he fought in Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia (twice), England, Macedonia, and even, once, in Missouri. 2012 saw five fights, in Croatia, England, Russia, and United Arab Emirates. 2011 saw seven fights, in Brazil, England, Poland, Russia twice, and the USA twice.

On Dec 20, Rodriguez fought for the first time in 2014, but came up short vs. Strikeforce vet Dion Staring, at Final Fight Championship 17 in Croatia. Rodriguez, 37, looked composed and effective in the first, until a front kick to the face dropped him; he did not fully recover and was unable to come out for the third.
