For months now we have heard developers from Electronic Arts praise themselves on the greatness of their first attempt at virtual mixed martial arts in their game EA MMA. They recently have went as far as bad mouthing the UFC Undisputed series and claiming that their game will prevail as the top MMA video game experience on the market. To say the least, they have talked a lot of talk for their first attempt at a brand new genre. It goes without saying that the second their demo released last Tuesday morning, MMA fans around the world quickly rushed to their Xbox Live Marketplace to download the hype that is EA MMA. There have been a lot of people praising the game, many fans claiming that it is garbage, and some with mixed feelings. I’m here today to make you ignore the lovers and the haters, and find out what this game is really all about from the view point of someone involved in the video game industry.
