ENTImports reports that UFC 207 will likely be Goldberg’s final event as a UFC commentator. While the ENTImports piece left room for it not to be true, the highly reliable Luke Thomas confirmed it.

Finally, UFC president Dana White made it official during a UFC 207 media scrum.
While never a raving favorite of the hardcore fanbase like Joe Rogan, Golberg’s departure represents a major change. Goldberg’s first event was UFC 15.5: Ultimate Japan on December 21, 1997. He first paired with Joe Rogan at UFC 40 November 22, 2002. And the Rogan-Goldberg duo worked nearly all UFC events prior to the FOX deal, including pay per view, SPIKE TV, and Versus.
For the past couple of years, the Rogan-Goldberg team worked around half the events. Jon Anik and then Brian Stann have been doing play-by-play on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass cards, with John Gooden and Dan Hardy working some international UFC Fight Pass events. Rogan has cut back significantly, and will only be doing North American pay per view events, for the remaining year of his contract. His role has been replaced variously by Hardy, Stann, and Kenny Florian, among others.
The departure is not unexpected. UFC president Dana White recently appeared on Sportsnet’s Tim & Sid and said he was working on a dream team with Rogan and … someone not named Mike Goldberg.
This has been my dream to assemble this dream team of commentating and I’ve wanted this guy for years and I’m working on it and it’s going to happen, said White. White did not say who he was referencing. However, Chael Sonnen recently named Jim Rome as the figure to replace Goldberg.
