Jeremy Botter is reporting for FloCombat that a fight between Tim Kennedy and Rashad Evans is being targeted for UFC 205 on November 12, 2016 in New York City, New York.

Evans won The Ultimate Fighter season 2, at heavyweight. He then dropped to light heavyweight, and became UFC champion, knocking out Forrest Griffin in the third, on December 27, 2008. He lost the title to Lyoto Machida in the next fight, and worked his way up to another title shot, vs. Jon Jones, losing a unanimous decision on April 21, 2012. Evans has gone 2-3 since, and is on a two-fight losing streak, to Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira.

Evans is now dropping to middleweight for the fight with Kennedy.

Kennedy has not fought since a highly controversial loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 September 27, 2014. Kennedy has however stayed busy, “Hunting Hitler” for The History Channel and founding Sheepdog Response, among other efforts. Prior to the Romero fight, Kennedy was on four-fight win streak.

The ever colorful Kennedy was most recently in the news when he pulled a gun on a USADA tester.

UFC 205 will take place at Madison Square Garden, in the return of the league, following the legalization of MMA earlier this year. A full card has not been disclosed, but a lightweight fight between Al Iaquinta and former welterweight championship challenger Thiago Alves is expected to be contested at the event.
