Renzo talks about fight on Friday at ONE: Reign on Kings
Renzo Gracie: “I believe I’m going to fight more. I’m going to impress people with this fight, and they’re going to want me to fight more, so I will do it.”

As the UFC is celebrating with great fanfare, the league’s 25th anniversary will take place on November 12, 2018. Renzo Gracie has been fighting since January 1, 1992, at Challenge: Gracie Vale Tudo in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Renzo holds career wins over former UFC champions Pat Miletich, Carlos Newton, Frank Shamrock, and Maurice Smith, but hasn’t fought since losing to Matt Hughes in 2010. Now Renzo fights Yuki Kondo at ONE: Reign of Kings on Friday, July 27, at the 20,000 seat Mall Of Asia Arena, in Manila, Philippines. The event streams live and FREE on the ONE Super App at 7:00 a.m. ET (7:00 p.m local time).
Renzo is now 51 and it is widely assumed that this will be his retirement fight. However, he tells Mike Chiappetta for MMA Fighting that he plans to fight on.
I believe I’m going to fight more, he said. I’m going to impress people with this fight, and they’re going to want me to fight more, so I will do it.
I think they thought I’m 51 and I don’t need it anymore, but I will fight for them more times. Believe it.
