Renzo Gracie is injured, faces knee surgery, and is out of the 2015 ADCC superfight with former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes.
Guilherme Cruz is reporting for MMAFighting.com that Renzo Gracie is injured, faces knee surgery, and is out of the superfight with former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes. The two were going to have a match at the 2015 Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championship on Aug. 29 and 30 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The pair fought at at UFC 112 in 2010, with Hughes winning via KO.
The other superfight matches, BTT co-founder Mario Sperry vs. ATT co-founder Ricardo Liborio in 2015, and ADCC 2013 absolute champion Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu vs. multiple-time ADCC champion Andre Galvao will still take place.
