Reem names three fighters he wants to fight next
Alistair Overeem responds to Mark Hunt’s criticism and names three fighters he’d like to fight next

UFC heavyweight Mark Hunt had been vocal in his belief that Overeem was a doper, and is suing the UFC over Brock Lesnar’s failed PED test. But Alistair Overeem stopped Mark Hunt with a knee on Saturday night, and a win has a way of making everything OK, for the winner.
At the post-fight press conference, ‘Reem said he overcame food poisoning the day before the fight, but was happy with how everything turned out in the end.
People know what I’ve done. People know what I didn’t do,” he said, as transcribed by Tristen Critchfield for Sherdog. “I’m really positive, I’m an optimist. I think his whole avenue was pretty negative from the get-go. I’m talking about the lawsuit toward the UFC and complaining. I would have never taken the same avenues. I thought his whole demeanor was pretty negative. I’m not gonna continue with that negativity. I put in a lot of work for this fight. And at the same time I respect Mark Hunt because he’s a champion and I love his fight style. We’re OK outside of the Octagon and I didn’t want to get drawn into that negativity.
I am very proud, but I am also very proud of my team. This is a great group of guys surrounding me and we might be old, but we’re not done yet. We see a lot of things [when we watch film], we studied my opponent very extensively, all my coaches do, and I think that combined with my ability, technical ability, athletic ability, I’m able to put these guys away.
Athough Overeem failed to defeat division Stipe Miocic in the fight before this one, the next title challenger is Junior dos Santos. And if JDS wins, Overeem, on a 5-1 streak, could be in the running, based on his win over the Brazilian in 2015. Otherwise, he wants the hottest fighters in the division.
I’m open to fighting Francis [Ngannou], I’m open to fighting Derrick Lewis, I’m open to fighting the winner of JDS-Stipe if JDS wins because that’s a little more logical step to me. But it needs to make sense. We’re gonna wait and see what’s gonna be on the table.
