Rankings Update: Davis up, Teixeira down

The co-main event featured previously sixth ranked Phil Davis grinding a decision win over previously ranked fourth Glover Teixeira.

After each event, the UFC polls various members of the media to update its rankings in each weight division as well as the pound for pound rankings.

This past weekend’s UFC 179 Brazil only featured a few meaningful bouts division wise. Chad Mendes remained in the number one contender spot after a solid, but ultimately losing performance against Chad Mendes.

The co-main event featured previously sixth ranked Phil Davis grinding a decision win over previously ranked fourth Glover Teixeira. With the win, Davis moved into the fifth spot and Teixeira fell two spots to sixth.
