With his dominating win over Rafael Dos Anjos, Khabib Nurmagomedov moved up two places to occupy the fifth spot and will likely face a top five lightweight in his next outing. Dos Anjos dropped three spots to eight with the loss.

Donald Cerrone picked up an impressive win over Edson Barboza at the event as well and moved up one spot to seventh. Barboza dropped two spots and down to the twelfth.

Often fighters can move rankings without fighting as the media will re-think their rankings, as was the cause with Gilbert Melendez who is now the number one contender and Benson Henderson who dropped to second place. Michael Johnson also moved up one spot courtesy of Edson Barboza’s loss.
