After each live event, the UFC polls various members of the media to update its rankings in each weight division as well as the pound for pound rankings.

With only a couple meaningful bouts at last weekend’s UFC 166 event, and no big upsets, there was little movement in the top ten rankings.

The only real division that saw movement was the heavyweight division, as previously ranked ninth Roy Nelson dropped to tenth with his loss to Daniel Cormier. That moved Stipe Miocic up to ninth in the rankings and Alistair Overeem and Frank Mir swapped rankings with Mir now down to eighth and Overeem moving up one spot to 7th.

Of course neither of these athletes fought this past weekend, it is just likely members of the media’s opinions have changed since last working through their rankigs.
