Former UFC women’s strawweight and flyweight Bec Rawlings retained her National Police Gazette women’s bare-knuckle boxing belt at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships 2 in Biloxi, Mississippi on Saturday night. BKB is turning into a thing, and despite defeating opponent Britain Hart via an odd Split Decision only(50-45, 49-45, 48-47), Rawlings, 29, is its Queen.
“I fought an aggressive fight,” said Rawlings afterward, as transcribed by Josh Peter for USA Today. “You win this fight by being aggressive, not by running. It is what it is. But, still the ‘queen of bare knuckle,’ and thank you Britain Hart for an amazing fight.”
“I think it was a really good fight. It was a tough fight. She came to fight. She put on a good fight. But she didn’t really want to stand the center with me. She kind of played the outside game. It took a little bit of adjustment, but I definitely think it wasn’t a split decision. I think I won that unanimously. But it is what it is. I’m just glad I came out with the victory.”
“Look, I think this is only the beginning for Bare Knuckle FC. They’re putting on great fights and great events and it was another great event. So I think it’s definitely going to get bigger from here.
“I’m just going to back to training and work on the little things and be prepared for someone like Britain that’s not going to toe the line with me. Obviously, that’s the little things I have to work on. I’m not a perfect boxer, but I’m on my way there.”
