Former WWE Champion CM Punk recently spoke to MMAJunkie about his pending UFC debut and how he thinks being a mystery will only benefit him:

The Punk-Gall encounter was friendly and lighthearted. However, Punk later revealed to MMAjunkie exactly what words were exchanged.

I said to him up there, I said, ‘That’s the way you want to win,’ Punk said. And he said, ‘I plan on continuing that.’ And I said, ‘Good for you. Good for you. It’s going to be a little harder.’ I’m more of a mystery than he is, though.

Aside from a brief break to recover from a shoulder injury, Punk has essentially been training nonstop at Milwaukee’s Roufusport camp alongside the likes of former UFC champ Anthony Pettis, ONE Championship titleholder Ben Askren and others.

Punk no doubt has put time into learning all aspects of the sport. However, it’s impossible for anyone outside of his training room to pinpoint his exact strengths and weaknesses. The former WWE star said that’s one of the advantages he’ll enjoy when the time comes for him to step in the octagon for the first time.

Him, you, everybody – they have no idea what I’m going to bring to the table, Punk said. That’s an advantage, obviously. … I’m indifferent, and I’m just happy he didn’t get hurt so we can do this thing as soon as possible. Being a mystery helps, but like I said, he’s kind of a mystery too, so we’ll see.
