Noted MMA trainer Shawn Tompkins, who earlier this year passed away at just 37 years old, will be remembered at a celebration in Las Vegas.
Longtime Team Tompkins fighters Sam Stout and Mark Hominick will be on hand, as will Tompkins’ former mentor, Bas Rutten. The event includes guest speakers, as well as music, food and beverages and a silent auction to benefit the Shawn Tompkins Memorial Fund, which was established to assist Tompkins’ surviving family.
Tompkins died in his sleep on Aug. 14. An autopsy pointed toward an enlarged heart and major blockages in his arteries that may have contributed to his death.
