Nick Diaz’s suspension is the longest punishment to date for any combat sports athlete and Twitter reacted with shock at the severity of the decision.
Earlier today at hearing in Nevada, the State Athletic Commission levied a $150,000 fine and five year suspension to Nick Diaz for a failed drug test at UFC 183. Although this wasn’t the first time Diaz had been punished, this is the longest punishment to date for any combat sports athlete and Twitter reacted with shock at the severity of the decision:
