Possible McCorkle vs. Barnett fight

… without getting the Call put right back on him?

(FYI, this is not a troll thread. And this is the first time I’ve ever said that at the beginning of one of my threads) This is 100% serious.

So, I get a text this afternoon from a friend of mine who manages and represents numerous fighters throughout the country. He want to know if I have a passport. I tell him I do, and he says he’ll hit me up later, he might have a very interesting offer for me. He said it was very early stages, so he didn’t want to say too much.

A few hours later he calls and leaves a voice mail asking for my legit height, weight, pro record, etc. He also wanted to know if I am currently in fight shape.

I call him back, answer his questions, and then he hits me with it. “Would you be interested in fighting Josh Barnett in a few weeks at Dream?”

“Absofuckinglutely if the money is right” I say

“Well they’re talking around 50k to show and 50k to win” he says

“Done deal, what do we need to do to make it official.”

He then says it’ll be a few days before we know if it’s a go because it has to go through several levels of approval over there, and Japan is always fucked up. But he did tell me that rumor has it, Josh Barnett himself was the one that brought my name up to Dream as a possible opponent. (just repeating what someone else was repeating what they were told)

So then I go from excited, to a little bit pissed. If that’s true, and Barnett suggested me, it either means that one, he thinks I’m an easy fight, or two, and more likely imo, that he isn’t a fan of my body of work on the UG and maybe just wants to shut my mouth for himself and all the haters.

So here we stand. Dream put the offer on me, and I agreed which put it right back on them. And then after I got pissed thinking about it, I got “the cal” out, on put it on Barnett himself.
