A disgusting video recently surfaced that alleges to show New Jersey resident Tony Cojocaru beating and threatening a helpless teenager. The man has been widely identified as an MMA fighter.

However, the official database for mixed martial arts lists three fighters with the surname Cojocaru, and none of them are US based. One is from Spain, one from Moldova, and one from Romania. None of them has the forename Tony.

The individual’s images on Facebook look not so much like a fighter as they look like someone who wishes he was, desperately.

The individual in question has made his Facebook and Instagram pages private, but google searches show that he identified himself as a freelance personal trainer with an interest in #mma #ufc #bellator #jeetkundo #boxing #kickboxing #karate #bjj #jiujitsu #muaythai. He can’t even spell Jeet Kune Do.

In short, this individual is not a mixed martial arts fighter.

The local police department is investigating.
