The English accent of the UG Jonathan Shrager spoke with Dustin Poirier ahead of his highly-anticipated UFC 178 bout with Irish superstar Conor McGregor.

McGregor anticipates a fight something like this:

Poirier anticipates that McGregor sucks at life everywhere.

“I didn’t really like him to begin with, ” began Poirier. “But now I really don’t like him. I thought I didn’t like him at the beginning, now I know I don’t like him. But, we get to fight about it.”

“Notorious” is notoriously braggadocios, and Poirier was asked if he thought it was an act for the cameras, or if the Irishman is the same behind the cameras as well.

“I’m sure he sucks at life there too,” explained Poirier. “That’s definitely one of his weapons – he gets inside people’s heads and he’s a bully. It’s worked for him in fights. I’ve seen guys not fight like themselves against him… Holloway was like a deer in the headlights against him. We saw Brandao kind of go out there and throw a couple of shots and wilt.

“I think a lot of that is because of the mental game. It’s a very powerful weapon. I know what matters. When we fight, what matters is the fight. Talk is not going to get to me. I’m going to beat this guy up, but I’m not going to over think it, or get too crazy.”
