In 2013, BJJ purple belt and MBA Alexandra Fuller founded Level Ground Mixed Martial Arts, a Boston-based, nonprofit program offering free and affordable MMA training, managed by urban youth.
You can follow the progress on their Facebook page.
Here is a video of what’s going on, that features among others William Graustuck, 19. He started training the Level Ground in 2014 and has gone on to compete in dozens of Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, and is currently 2-1 in MMA. In addition to the athletic opportunities Level Ground has afforded him, Graustuck has entered college and gained employment at multiple Boston-based gyms.
Access to BJJ and MMA classes AT LG Training Center will be free for children and teens, provided they complete their homework and demonstrate a commitment to advancing in their studies through participation in tutoring sessions. Adults may also take classes and will pay a membership that is compatible with their income.
Fuller teamed up with Zebra Mats, entrepreneur and undefeated prizefighter George ‘Monk’ Foreman III, and other key sponsors, but that alone is not enough. Support and shares from the hardcore MMA fanbase can put this over the top.
Your Generosity is profoundly appreciated.
