After graduating from the ONE Friday Fights series, striking phenom Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom is gearing up to showcase her talents on ONE Championship’s main roster.

“The Queen” will face off with former ONE world title challenger Lara Fernandez at “ONE Fight Night 12: Superlek vs. Khalilov” in the familiar surrounds of the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 14.

The important battle, which goes live and free on Prime Video for subscribers across North America, will be the rising Thai star’s first as a fully-fledged ONE athlete, after she was awarded a six-figure contract with the promotion at ONE Friday Fights 16 in May.

Phetjeeja scored back-to-back crushing knockouts in ONE’s weekly showcase of martial arts action, adding two wins to her staggering 204-12 career record, and she is ecstatic to be given the opportunity to compete on the promotion’s global stage.

“I feel so proud of myself because I had to go through a lot of hard work and obstacles to get to this point,” she said.

“I never thought I could sign a contract with ONE Championship and represent Thai people to show our national martial art to the world. I want to thank Mr. Chatri (Sityodtong) for offering me the contract.”

Having long dominated the Eastern martial arts scene, ONE Championship is making great strides in the Western market, as evidenced by its hugely successful debut event in the United States earlier this year.

ONE Fight Night 12 is set to be broadcast in U.S. primetime, and Phetjeeja cannot wait to put on a show for the rapidly expanding American audience.

“This fight will broadcast during primetime in America. I want to show Americans that female fighters can fight with an elite level of muay Thai,” she said.

“I want to show the beauty of muay Thai moves and show them an unforgettable knockout if I can. This will make them more interested in muay Thai and ONE Championship.”
