Anthony Pettis: This is it, my one chance at becoming the UFC lightweight champion. Everything I set out to do when I first started training, it’s here. Benson’s the guy in my way. I beat Bens Henderson once, I can do it again. I deserve to be at the top of the top.
Fighting Ben Henderson, he’s not really one of the guys you have to worry about getting knocked out from. Ben Henderson is superior anywhere to me. I feel like I’m better the champ. I feel like I’m the best 155er in the world, and I don’t think he’s better than me anywhere, and I can beat him at this own game.
Stand up area, that’s my game. I don’t see anyone in the world being able to stand with me and take me out of my game.
I want to make things happen that no one’s seen before. I want the crowd to be invovled. I’m that guy that jumps off cages and kicks people in the face.
I’m gonna go out there and try to knock this dude out. I’m gonna try to go out there and try to finish this guy. And whether it’s just a right hand or a jump off the cage kick, I’m going to try to finish this guy. I don’t know if you believe in fate or destiny, but in my hometown, Ben Henderson, we have a lot of history together. This is going to be a good scrap. I’m the best in the world at 155.
