Heading into this UFC 185 title defense, Anthony Pettis knows that his opponent, Rafael Dos Anjos, is dangerous, but he believes his confidence will lead him to a win:
He’s dangerous, Pettis proclaimed.
At 8-1 in his past nine fights, there’s no doubt that dos Anjos deserves that respect. Still, the Brazilian contender hasn’t been able to garner much fan support, and many seem to view the result against dos Anjos as a mere formality.
Pettis isn’t quite ready to make that statement just yet, but he does believe he holds an edge in the matchup.
He hasn’t fought somebody like me, Pettis said. Dos Anjos is a good fighter. There’s a lot of good fighters in the lightweight division, but I’m a great fighter, and that’s the difference between us two. We have the same access to the same training. I just have this mindset and this willpower – this confidence that when I go in there, I’m invincible.
