José “Pele” Landi-Jons, one of the pioneering figures in Vale Tudo, the Brazilian predecessor to Mixed Martial Arts, took intense offense to some of the things Anderson Silva wrote in his new autobiography.

“I feel I’m in a pathetic situation here, having to answer to this well-known fighter. who has lied about me and some of the facts of our lives.

“I’m going to try to describe things as good as I can, emphasizing what I’ve read in Anderson’s book, things that have really hurt me.

“First of all let’s talk about the lie of me splashing water onto Anderson and his daughter. Anderson says that on a rainy day he was taking his daughter to a day care center and I drove close to them, and on purpose … I drove over a puddle to splash water on them.”

“Anderson, you know it’s a fat lie and so does everyone else who knows me! Anderson, you know that if I had any kind of personal problem with you by then, I’d have stopped my pick up truck and spanked you right there.”
