Pearson appeals decision to AC

It is likely never to be overturned, unless there were an investigation which uncovered anything deliberate or malicious in the act of scoring.

In an example of perhaps the worst scoring in MMA ever, two of three judges awarded Diego Sanchez the win over Ross Pearson in the UFC Fight Night 42 co-main event.

It was clear in the eyes of most fans and media that Pearson had clearly won the fight but when the judges score cards were read, Sanchez was awarded a split decision. Pearson and his coach apparently filed an appeal immediately after the fight:

Telegraph Sport can reveal that Pearson and coach Eric Del Fierro had lodged a complaint with the New Mexico Commission straight after the fight and lodged an appeal. The UFC would need to leave it in the hands of the NM Athletic Commission which has jurisdiction on these matters.
