Overeem: I thought Brock would be bigger

Alistair Overeem and Brock Lesnar came face-to-face at the UFC 141 press conference in California. By all accounts, the rumors that Lesnar was a little small were false – Brock showed at 6’3” and 278-pounds. All accounts but one. The 6’5” and 256-pound Alistair Overeem was expecting more:

“He seemed like a regular guy. There was not really any emotion.

“Of course, I’ve had so many fights in my career, I’ve been fighting now for 14 years, eight years on the top level, I’ve looked in a lot of people’s eyes. I don’t really get warm or cold about it.

“I did think he was bigger but maybe that’s because I got bigger over the years. But, yeah, no hard feelings. No, (I was under the impression he would be) bigger. Perhaps (he did lose some size after the surgery), but he still weighs like 278-pounds, that’s what he says.”
