Ortiz shuts down Liddell fight proposal hard
Tito Ortiz: “I don’t need the money. Suck that you need the money.”

Bellator MMA has enjoyed great success with putting on fan-friendly fights with competitors who built a name in the UFC, but are no longer competitive at the highest levels of the sport. Stephan Bonnar, Tito Ortiz, Kimbo Slice, Royce Gracie, and Ken Shamrock all found second lives in the world’s #2 promotion.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell lost three fights in a row via violent KO, and his friend UFC president Dana White created a no-show desk job for him, in exchange for retiring. New league owners WME-IMG fired Liddell, and The Iceman has hinted in a series of messages on his social network that he is thinking about returning.
Liddell is 47 now, and his voice doesn’t sound right. But power is the last thing to go, and the desire to fight lasts longer still. The Iceman recently had lunch with Bellator president Scott Coker, and this weekend offered a suggestion on Instagram with the caption, “Why not?”

Ortiz and Liddell fought twice, with the latter winning both via early KO. Ortiz was not impressed with the offer, as he made clear in two mean tweets.

Ortiz recently retired, but a little more bickering and he could be back. If he stays retired, other possible Liddell opponents at Bellator include Fedor Emelianenko and Wanderlie Silva, among others.
