Tayfun Ozcan has quite a lot going on in his life right now.

The Dutch-Turkish striker is busy preparing for the biggest fight of his career at “ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov” on Prime Video this weekend, and he also has a newborn baby at home.

The No. 5-ranked featherweight kickboxing contender faces former divisional king Superbon Singha Mawynn in a crucial striking affair at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this Friday, June 9 – just weeks after he and his wife welcomed a new addition to their family.

“My second child was born just two weeks ago. I’m very happy for the second time. It’s busy, but I have a great wife,” Ozcan said.

“She doesn’t let me do anything. She only tells me to focus on the fight, and she stays with the little one downstairs, so I don’t even hear nothing.”

Ozcan and Superbon were originally scheduled to clash at ONE Fight Night 2 last October, before an unfortunate illness forced the Thai superstar to withdraw from the bout on the day of the weigh-in.

That cancellation could well have been a blessing in disguise for “Turbine,” however, and there was no hesitation to take the rebooked fight despite the tight timeline.

“I think there is never a good time when you have a kid. But I think, for me, this is perfect because now my wife is staying at home with the two children. So for me, it’s the perfect time to be in a camp. I never had any doubt in my mind to take the fight at this point,” Ozcan said.

“The only stress I had this time was when she gave birth. That was the only time I had stress because you never know what will happen. Maybe something will happen to the baby or to her, you know? But everything went well, so now I can just focus.”

With his mind solely focused on his epic clash with Superbon, Ozcan has been formulating a plan to topple the top-ranked contender and state his case for a ONE featherweight kickboxing world title shot.

While the 31-year-old is playing his cards close to his chest on what he will do after the opening bell this Friday, he did reveal that a calculated approach will be key to claiming professional victory number 85.

“I see that I’m going to fight in every possible way. That’s how I visualize it. Putting the pressure on in every range,” Ozcan said.

“I’m not going to look for the finish. I have a very good game plan, and I’m going to execute my game plan to perfection. Nobody can look for the KO. If I say I look for that, I’m not going to find it. But I have a gameplan. I’m going to stick to it, and we’ll see what happens.”
