Oezdemir vs. Manuwa at UFC 214

Swiss UFC light heavyweight Volkan Oezdemir is on the fast track. He went 12-1 before getting signed to the UFC this year, and so far has won twice, both times beating the odds.

In his debut in February, Oezdemir beat Ovince Saint Preux via Split Decision. And on Saturday at UFC Fight Night 109: Gustafsson vs. Teixeira, he knocked out Misha Cirkunov in the first.

Now the UFC has announced that Oezdemir will fight #3 ranked Jimi Manuwa at UFC 214: Cormier vs Jones 2 on July 29, 2017, at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Oezdemir had called for the fight after beating Cirkunov.

Should something happen to either Jones or Cormier, and the odds are that they will, then Manuwa and Oezdemir will be trained and ready, and Manuwa could be pulled in.
