The New York State Athletic Commission struggled at UFC 205. They briefly told Pearl Gonzalez she couldn’t fight due to breast augmentation surgery, discovered a gravity leak when weighing in Daniel Cormier which could revolutionize physics, and suffered a controversial ending to the co-main event.

On the positive side, they continue to save mixed martial arts from the scourge of fence jumping. When Yoel Romero defeated Chris Weidman at UFC 205, he briefly exited the Octagon in an excited rush to hug his corner. That got Romero a 60-day suspension.

At UFC 210, Charles Oliveira opened the UFC 210 pay-per-view broadcast by defeating former Bellator champion ‘Ill’ Will Brooks, and again, exited the Octagon to hug his corner. That got Oliveira a 60-day suspension.

Charles Oliveira was administratively suspended 60 days for exiting the fighting area by jumping over the cage after his bout, the New York State Athletic Commission informed MMAWeekly.com.

The punishment is largely symbolic, as no one in the UFC fights six times per year, but could have an effect if a big spot opened up unexpectedly.
