Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s persona was pretty ruthless. She walked out to Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation, and truly didn’t, “give a damn ’bout my reputation.”

Rousey expressed her feelings bluntly during pre-fight media face-offs.

New champion Amanda Nunes did a Ronda Rousey on Ronda Rousey, at UFC 207, defeating her in 48 seconds and making ‘Rowdy’ look wholly ineffectual. Afterward, Nunes did another Ronda Rousey on Ronda Rousey – she too was ungracious in victory.

An hour after the fight, she tweeted this.

I’m the best on the planet, said Nunes later still. She’s going to go do movies. Forget about her. She has a lot of money already.

Now Nunes has thought the better of the antics and issued a public apology.

“Let me take a moment to explain myself,” she began on Instagram. “I was overwhelmed with adrenaline, emotion and hurt at the time. I held so much in during the weeks prior to my fight with Ronda. I might have said or posted some things at the time that I now realize was not the right thing to do. I want to apologize to Ronda. Her fans and mine and the UFC as well. Ronda is an amazing athlete and has done so much for this sport, especially for the women. #respect”

In this regard, Nunes and Rousey are different animals. Ronda Rousey never apologized, and never explained. And now, her friend and boss UFC president Dana White said she is probably never fighting again.
