Valentina Shevchenko picked up the biggest win of her career this past weekend, defeating former champion Holly Holm at the UFC on FOX 20. Shevchenko outworked and outland Holm for four of the the five rounds in the main event and all three judges saw the score the same 49-46.
After her win, Shevchenko called out newly crowned champion Amanda Nunes for a shot at the women’s bantamweight championship. Shevchenko lost a decision to the new champion in her previous fight and is anxious for a rematch, but this time with the title on the line.
It didn’t take long for Nunes to respond to the call out by Shevchenko, jumping on Twitter shortly after and promising to beat her again:

Nunes first response to make sure Shevchenko knew who won the first fight and who would win the rematch, but she quickly added that maybe Shevchenko doesn’t quite deserve the rematch yet:

The women’s strawweight has become a volatile division since Ronda Rousey lost the championship to Holly Holm. Nobody has yet to defend the title since winning it. Holm lost to Tate, then Tate lost to Nunes.
There is no word currently on who might challenge for the title next, but any match in the division will be an exciting fight regardless.
