NSAC releases amended complaint, Sonnen could face up to $250k in fines
Today the Nevada State Athletic Commission released an amended complaint against Chael Sonnen which could have him responsible for up to $250,000 in fines.
News just keeps getting worse for Chael Sonnen. Last week it was revealed that he failed a second random drug test and was subsequently released by the UFC and FOX of his broadcasting contract. And today the Nevada State Athletic Commission released an amended complaint against Sonnen which could have him responsible for up to $250,000 in fines:
Now-retired UFC fighter Chael Sonnen has until July 17 to indicate whether he’ll appeal a disciplinary complaint filed against him by Nevada’s attorney general in the wake of dual drug failures.
Sonnen faces a fine of up to $250,000, the suspension of his license, expenses related to the complaint and the requirement that he provide a clean drug test upon his next licensing application, according to a copy of the complaint obtained today by MMAjunkie.
The Nevada State Athlete Commission gives licensees 20 days to respond to complaints; the commission sent it via certified mail on June 27. MMAjunkie could not reach Sonnen or his reps to see whether an appeal will be filed. NSAC Executive Director Bob Bennett said via email that he hasn’t heard from the fighter or his camp.
