A recent report on the Brazilian MMA Web site Tatame stated that Strikeforce was planning a show on July 17 in Australia, headlined by Josh Barnett vs. Geronimo “Mondragon” Dos Santos.

However, sources close to the organization tell MMA Fighting that the report is untrue and that Strikeforce is not planning any show Down Under any time soon.

Sources also tell MMA Fighting that the organization has no deal in place with Barnett at this time.

Tatame called Mondragon against, and the heavyweight explained the misunderstanding. I’m sorry, I was wrong. I signed the contract, the fight will be against Josh Barnett, but it’ll be at Impact MMA, a new event in Australia… If I win I’ll sign with Strikeforce, I’m so thrilled that I said everything wrong (laughs), the heavyweight explains.
