It didn’t take long for John Howard to find a new opponent.
Howard’s manager Linda Shields confirmed that Daniel Roberts will be stepping in as a replacement for the injured Anthony Johnson.
The fight is scheduled to take place for the UFC’s first broadcast on the Versus network, dubbed UFC on Versus 1, on March 21.
Howard, 26-year-old, has a record of 13-3 and was successful in his first year with the UFC in 2009. He beat Tamdan McCrory and Chris Wilson by decisions and was on his way to losing a decision to Dennis Hallman at the Ultimate Fighter Season 10 Finale in December. Howard, however, persevered and knocked Hallman out with five seconds left in the fight.
Roberts, who fights out of Oklahoma, is a welterweight with a record of 9-0. A submission fighter, who has finished six of his opponents via submission, will be making his UFC debut.
