Nick Diaz’ WAR 1 to stream live and free June 22

UFC welterweight Nick Diaz is now officially in the fight promotion business, with the announcement of the fight card for WAR, to be held June 22 at the Stockton Arena.

Main Event:

Daniel Roberts vs. Justin Baesman

Antonio Banuelos vs. Benny Vinson

Caleb Mitchell vs. Evan Esguerra

Roy Boughton vs. Liron Wilson

Mike Persons vs. Clayton McKinney

Darin Cooley vs. Cody Gibson.

More bouts will be announced in the upcoming days.

The promotion will use a modified version of the Unified Rules, reflecting changes Diaz has long called for, including the use of a ring over a cage, and the prohibition of elbows on the ground.

UFC president Dana White was recently asked about Diaz’ new effort and said positively “Good for him,” adding not unkindly “welcome to the losing-money business.”
