Ludwig pressed early, landing a crisp knee in the clinch, but Neer simply waved him in. Ludwig continued to push forward and seemed to stun Neer with a few more knees to the body.
Neer’s face reddened from the early work, but he continued to press forward and did earn a sweep takedown halfway into the round. As Ludwig scrambled to rise, Neer latched in a guillotine choke with his left arm, and settled onto his back. Ludwig was immediately trapped, and he was asleep before he could offer a tap. The surprising and impressive win came at the 3:04 mark of the first round.
