The MMA world is excited about the UFC 205 main event between Conor McGregor and Eddie Alvarez.

There are, however, exceptions.

Khabib Nurmagomedov called it “#1 bulls***!” He’s the #1 challenger and had expected a title fight with Alvarez. Instead, he gets Michael Johnson.

Jose Aldo wants to be released from his contract. He’s the interim champion, and had been told he would get a unification fight with McGregor, or the unified belt. Instead, he gets … something TBD.

Nate Diaz too was not impressed, as he made clear during an interview with Ariel Helwani for MMA Fighting. Both Diaz, McGregor, and the fans had called for trilogy fight after Diaz dominated Notorious in their first fight at UFC 196, and then lost a majority decision at UFC 202. However, the league decided to shift McGregor elsewhere for the time being, doubtless holding the trilogy fight in reserve.

“F*** them both,” he explained. “You know both those little bitches are afraid to fight me. That’s why they are fighting each other.

“And tell Dana I said get off Conor’s nuts. I left my room to that fight at 176, so when I fought I was probably 173. Quit telling people I was a monster to make him look good. I’ve been a lightweight my whole career.”

“Eddie said I was next after Gilbert, then I called him a b**** in the lobby and he turned the fight down repeatedly until I beat Conor. Then he called every day asking for the fight. B****. What kinda fighters are these guys?”

Diaz does not have a fight booked, and is hopefully just enjoying life.
