FOX Sports Live reports that Nate Diaz fights Michael Johnson at UFC on FOX 17 on December 19, in Orlando, Florida.

Diaz has not fought since losing at a catchweight to now UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on FOX 13 on December 13, 2014. Diaz was 2-2 the previous four fights. He had a title shot loss to Benson Henderson, and a TKO loss to Josh Thomson. Diaz also had a performance bonus winning KO over Gray Maynard and a performance bonus winning submission of Jim Miller.

Johnson’s last fight was a controversial split decision loss to Beneil Dariush at UFC Fight Night 73 on August 8. Before that, he won four in a row.

UFC on FOX 17 is headlined by lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos vs. Donald Cerrone.
