One of the most successful, talented and controversial past winners of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series has decided to continue his career with the UFC, as Nate Diaz has signed a new four-fight contract with the Las Vegas-based promotion.
The first fight under Diaz’s new UFC contract will come against Marcus Davis at UFC 118 in August in what will be his second fight in the welterweight division.
The Ceaser Gracie product decided to make the move up to welterweight due to the toll his body has taken to cut down to make the 155-pound lightweight division. However, Diaz said he would still compete as a lightweight “every once in awhile.”
Diaz recently made a successful welterweight debut, as he scored a first round TKO win over IFL veteran Rory Markham at UFC 111 in March.
