In his latest blog at TheTeamFury.com, the #8 ranked UFC lightweight Myles ‘Fury’ Jury reflects on the lessons we learned from Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm on Saturday.
#1 – No one is Unbeatable
Ronda Rousey was the best female MMA fighter and was so dominant that even Arnold Schwarzenegger deemed her the Real Life Terminator. … In this sport, it goes to show that styles make fights and even the best, most dominant champions have holes in their game, which leads to them being beatable at any given time.
#2 – Talk is Still Cheap
Holm executed the perfect game plan and picked Ronda apart by believing in herself. Anyone can do anything they want, as long as you truly believe in yourself 100%, tell yourself the right things and have your actions show it. Ronda on the other hand is going to have a really tough time dealing with all of her statements and not taking a humble approach. Anyone can be flying high and lose it all at anytime. Nobody is above anyone and all of us can be chopped back down to ultimate lows. Don’t ever get too far ahead of yourself.
#3 – Sometimes It Pays big to be the UNDERDOG
Holly Holms’ team said they won over six figures in cash, betting on her to win … Holm played the underdog role perfect, she kept quiet and blocked out all the noise from everyone saying how Ronda is the best and she stayed true to the confidence in her skill and fighting ability. By training hard and sticking to her close support group of team and family, Holm was able to fly under the radar and dominate the best female athlete to ever step foot in the octagon. Sometimes it pays big to be the underdog.
