The main event of UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast, Ireland featured a middleweight rematch between Gegard Mousasi and Urijah Hall.

The two first fought back in 2015, which saw Mousasi control most of the action until Hall landed a brutal spinning back kick to the face of Mousasi, ending the fight in the second round.

Play-By-Play

Round 1 – Main event rematch time. Marc Goddard is the third man in the cage for the middleweights. Can lightning strike twice for Uriah Hall, or will Gegard Mousasi avenge a knockout loss? Hall goes to the center. He fakes a spinning kick, then throws a high one that Mousasi slides away from. They trade low kicks, then Hall spins again, but it’s off the mark. Mousasi pops his first jab of the fight and it pushes Hall’s head back. Then Hall throws another spinning kick and Mousasi just barely blocks it. Hall ducks under a right hook. Midway through, he throws another spinning kick, then backs away from a pair of Mousasi punches. With about a minute left, Mousasi drives in and looks for a takedown. It’s not there, but he presses Hall to the cage. He works for it and gets it, then works to take Hall’s back. He drops in some big punches with Hall on the ground. He’s just teeing off on him. Hall is covering up. He’s got no answer. Mousasi is too top heavy and Hall can’t answer the punches. Goddard tells him to get out of there or it’s done, and he can’t. He steps in to shut things down for the TKO win.
