Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi has bounced around multiple weight classes through the years, however he appears content on dominating the 205-pound class from here on out.
I won’t make it anymore. It’s not healthy for me, so 185 (pounds) I will never do [again], Mousasi told MMAWeekly.
Mousasi believes that between Strikeforce, M-1 Global and Dream, there will be plenty of formidable light heavyweight competition for him to test his skills against.
With Dream in cooperation with M-1 Global and Strikeforce next year I heard they have 20 shows, so eventually they will build up contenders and I’m pretty sure I will have tough opponents in the future, Mousasi added. Maybe for an experiment go for heavyweight, but that’s also too soon. I’m just going to stick with 205, there’s a lot of good fighters coming now, a lot of shows.
