Mousasi close to new four-fight deal with Strikeforce

Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi tonight announced while appearing on MMABay Radio that he’s in the throes of signing a new four fight contract with the promotion and expects the deal to be done in the next few days.

Mousasi explained that the contract was currently being looked over by his advisors and that he expects to sign it when he travels to America to take on King Mo Lawal this weekend at Strikeforce: Nashville this weekend.

Mousasi also said that he had no interest in signing with the UFC at present and that he was happy competing under the banner of the California based promotion. Fans hoping for him to jump ship and make an appearance in the octagon anytime soon will be left disappointed by this latest news.
