Modafferi: GIve me a title shot
Invicta FC flyweight Roxanne Modafferi beat DeAnna Bennett on Friday night at Invicta FC 16, and is calling for a title shot.

Invicta FC flyweight Roxanne Modafferi started fighting in 2003. A year later she beat the best woman in the sport, Jennifer Howe, who was 12-0, with only one fight going to decision. Then she beat Howe in the rematch. From 2007-2010, she went 8-1, with wins over Marloes Coenen, Megumi Yabushita, Tara LaRosa, and Vanessa Porto.
Then she went 0-6. And turned 30. That appeared to be it, the end of a pioneering WMMA career. However, “The Happy Warrior” is not just a ring name, it is who she is. She maintained a positive attitude; that’s the happy part of Happy Warrior. And she is a warrior. She got on TUF and acquitted herself well, and moved to Vegas from her new adopted home in Japan. And there she started training with John Wood, owner of of Syndicate MMA.
Modafferi has gone 4-1 since, and is on a two fight win streak, with a win over DeAnna Bennett on Friday night at Invicta FC 16. Bennett was coming of a title fight loss to Livia Renata Souza at the last Invicta, and had never lost before that. She is at the top of the WMMA food chain.
