You My Dawg, Brah: MMA’s Five Best Bro-mances

Despite the fact that MMA is an individual sport, strong bonds are forged in gyms as fighters train with each other. Some fighters, though, have become so close that it’s hard to imagine one without the other. Here are a few of MMA’s best bro-mances.
Keith Jardine and Rashad Evans (pictured): Though this bromance extends to the entire Jackson’s MMA core group of Jardine, Evans, Nate Marquardt and Georges St. Pierre, Evans and Jardine have a special bond. That bond extends to their fighting, as the two top light heavyweights have adamantly refused to fight each other.
Dana White and Tito Ortiz: These two are constantly breaking up and making up, but it’s clear that the president of the UFC and the former champ have a lot of love for each other. Otherwise, Ortiz never would have been welcomed back to the UFC.
Joe Benavidez, Urijah Faber and Chad Mendes: All of the Alpha Male fighters seem to be tight, but it seems that the WEC bantamweight, former WEC featherweight champ and up-and-coming former Div. I wrestling NCAA finalist are always together. Check out Urijah Faber’s Twitter for confirmation.
Frank Mir and Miguel Torres: The former WEC bantamweight champ and former UFC heavyweight champ seem like an odd pair, but they help each other get ready for fights. Torres is always present at Mir’s fights, and Mir has come under fire for being too biased when commentating on Torres’ bouts for the WEC on Versus.
Leonard Garcia and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone: This is another friendship started in New Mexico at Greg Jackson’s camp. Garcia and Cerrone have even used their friendship to help other fighters, as they share their training house in New Mexico with up-and-coming fighters. Cerrone is fighting for the WEC interim lightweight bout this Saturday at 10 p.m. ET on Versus, and Garcia will definitely be in his corner.
