MMA receives government sanction in Malaysia

I know with the Strikeforce, Bellator events…and all the other shows going on around the globe last weekend…this probably wont get much attention.

…But something historic happened last weekend in Malaysia.

The country promoted it’s first ever ‘sanctioned’ MMA bouts. The government has gotten behind the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, and in a country where Muay Thai is already ‘booming’ it is nice to see the Sports Authority support MMA. (maybe it’s time New York)

Anyways…only 3 fights, and most of them were low level, but it was a start. The fans are already anxiously anticipating next months event.

Malaysia Full Contact Martial Arts

Cheras Stadium,

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Ngoo Ditty (thailand) of Tiger Muay Thai beat former WMC Muay Thai Champion, and legend Abbass Ahmadi by RNC.

The other two results were

AJ Vaa over Keanu Subba by decision

and

South African Muay Thai Champion Daniel Mashamaite over Ramin Moazzaimi by RNC.

While MMA is almost dead in Japan—the sport is starting to gain momentum in Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, China, Borneo, Philippines, and other South East Asian countries.
