Mir predicts first round submission

FOX Sport’s Mark Kriegel sat down with Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir to talk about their fight Satirday night for the UFC Heavyweight championship.

“I am sure Junior wants me to be very aware of the fact that if he lands a punch, his speed and his power have put to sleep a lot of individuals,” said Mir. “I have to have in his mind that there’s a certain threat of danger. That is I grab you and put on a submission, and you don’t tap, that might work to ,my advantage and he taps quick.”

“Basically, you have to go and fight him. The fact that I’m a south paw, the way I’m gonna ty and maneuver and work — I have ideas to try and nullify his jab. We can all gameplan and work out all these different contingency plans, but lose the fight night when we start throwing down leather. We’ll see what happens.”

“Obviously, I predict that I win by submission,” said Mir. “Early first round.”
