Top UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic recently spoke with Submission Radio about how he felt when he heard a rumor, since denied that Andrei Arlovski is getting the next title shot at UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum. His mood was summed up by a two word tweet: “F@$% it.”

“I was kind of upset a little bit,” said Miocic. “You know, I put my time in, I fought top ranked guys the last couple fights. I built myself up to come up to that level and get my shot at the title, you know and it really upset me that a guy would just jump me like that.

You know I texted [UFC president Dana White] ’cause I heard that rumor about Arlovski getting, so I kinda went ‘Hey you know, don’t mean to bother you but I heard a rumor that Arlovski will get the fight and you know…’ No, so nothing yet, but he’s a busy man too.

Miocic said he was not shocked by how Cain Velasquez looked in the loss to Werdum in Mexico City.

“I mean maybe that’s due to altitude or being out the cage for a li’l bit, for a couple years,” he said. “He’ll be back stronger than he’s ever been. You know, he’s a tough man, he’s the champ, he’s the former champ. The guy knows how to fight. He’ll be back stronger.

“Anytime I walk in the cage I have a game plan, and watching guys fight, they have their tendencies and stuff. Everyone’s beatable. I don’t care who you are, it’s the MMA game. Anyone’s beatable. And again, I know I can do it and I know I can win every time.

And Miocic made the case for why he should get the next title shot.

’Cause he hasn’t fought someone like me before,” he said.” I bring a lot to the table and I’m gonna walk in there and I’m confident I’m gonna win the fight and I’m gonna win the fight. I’m gonna be the next heavyweight champ.

I’m faster than him, I move better than him, I got better stand up. He’s really good on the ground, he’s a black belt, but nah I’ll definitely use my wrestling. I’ll be smart about it and not put myself in any bad positions, but I think anywhere it goes I’m comfortable with and whatever he brings to the table Ill be able to handle.
