In his short-notice UFC 161 bout against Stipe Miocic on Saturday night, Roy “Big Country” Nelson looked, well, like a plus-sized individual who took a fight on short notice.
And one who may have underestimated his opponent, to boot.
Nelson gassed early in his heavyweight bout with the once-beaten Miocic and wound up as target practice in a unanimous decision loss. All three judges at Winnipeg’s MTS Centre scored the bout 30-27 in favor of Miocic.
