Miocic: I’ll go out to bang, I don’t care what happens
Stipe Miocic: “I’m gonna go out there, and I go to bang, man. I don’t care what happens, I’m gonna go out there swinging – win or lose.”
The UFC heavyweight division is so unpredictable that no heavyweight champion has ever successfully defended his title more than twice. Stipe Miocic defends his title for the second time vs. Junior dos Santos at the incredible UFC 211 on May 13, 2017. Their first fight, in 2014, ended in a decision.
Miocic predicts the rematch will be different.
“It’s the best possible matchup to make in the heavyweight division,” said Miocic to Matthew Wells for FloCombat. “Which I’m glad they did and it’s about time. I’m just locked in like I do every fight. I have seven performance bonuses, that’s the most in the heavyweight division. I’m still young and I’ve got a lot more coming.”

And Miocic predicts that it will be different than the other major rematch this year Tyron Woodley vs. Stephen Thompson. Their first fight was the Fight of the Night; their second fight was not.
“Those guys were two different styles,” said Miocic. “Woodley and Thompson, they’re amazing fighters. Woodley is strong, powerful, explosive. Wonderboy is also strong, powerful, and explosive, but in a different way with his karate. It’s like oil and water. With me and JDS, we’re both boxers, we like to stand and bang. That’s what everyone wants to see!”
And Miocic is excited to be on top of what could be the card of the year.
